How
will I
manage?
Alzheimer's disease and the dementia it causes are devastating to patients, caregivers, and families. It's important to remember that you are not alone.
There are numerous support resources available to you to help you on your journey as a caregiver. Reach out to them often.
Contact the Administration on Aging for local help and information. This group can connect you with services in your area and provide the latest information on government programs and assistance. Call 202-619-0724.
Find local eldercare services. While you may be a primary caregiver, there are many companies and organizations that offer services to supplement and support your care. Call 1-800-677-1116 to find area help.
Join a local support group. Many groups are run by churches and synagogues, and by your local chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. Call 1-800-272-3900 to find one near you.
Join an online support group. A comprehensive support site can be a 24-hour resource for information, news, and support.
Share the caregiving experience with others. Connect with caregivers like yourself and read their stories, blogs, and updates for information and inspirations.
