I couldn't have imagined the highs and lows that lay ahead as I cared for my mother during her decade-long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Like many other Alzheimer's caregivers, I learned a lot along the way, including how important it is to help educate and support fellow caregivers through shared experiences. Now it's your turn. Enter the "Words of Wisdom" contest!
All you have to do is submit your advice about finding strength and support during your Alzheimer's caregiving journey for a chance to win a $100 gift card and have your insights featured on this site. I'll be judging the entries along with an Alzheimer's expert and a real-world Alzheimer's caregiver.
When selecting the 10 contest winners, keep in mind that we're looking for advice that can help improve the Alzheimer's caregiving experience for others. Specifically, we're looking for advice that is:

Contest Notice
Only U.S. residents age 18 and older who have been or are currently a caregiver to a person with Alzheimer's disease are eligible to participate.
To be eligible, entries must follow the Submission Guidelines and be received by February 29.
Information that you provide will remain secure and only be used as noted below.
- If your submission is selected to be featured on AlzheimersDisease.com, or to be used by Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation at a future date, Novartis or a representative may notify you via email to request permission for more extensive usage rights.
- Entries will not be featured on AlzheimersDisease.com until all named persons sign a consent form. Note: only first names will be published on AlzheimersDisease.com.
- We ask you to provide contact information so that we can fulfill our commitment to patient safety. Here's why: If your submission mentions a side effect with a prescription drug, Novartis may be required to contact you for further information. You are encouraged to report negative side effects of prescription drugs to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Visit www.fda.gov/medwatch or call 1-800-FDA-1088.
- Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation will keep all records for up to one year, after which your contact information and submission will be destroyed.
Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation reserves the right to cancel or suspend the contest should any cause beyond the control of Novartis affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper operation of the contest, or for any other reason it deems appropriate, at its sole and absolute discretion.
Winners will be notified in the coming months. Prizes unclaimed after 28 days will be deemed to have been forfeited, and Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation reserves the right to offer the prize to another entrant or not at all.
This is not a contest of chance, and chance plays no part in the determination of the winning entries. The winners will be determined by a panel of judges, who will evaluate the entries on the criteria of being the most positive, unique, useful and affordable.
The judges' decision is final and will not be reviewed. Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
